GREAT BRITISH STAMPS INVESTMENTS |
Great British Stamps for Investment
People have invested in stamps probably since the first day they were ever issued. Some have made a lot of money out of it, others have lost a lot. If you are considering Stamps as an Investment, then my main bit of advice is learn a bit about stamps first. A lack of knowledge about any investment area can be dangerous, I know, I bought Marconi shares at 35p each. The last time I looked, I think my entire holding was not worth much more! Also, be very careful about where and whom you give your money to.
If you are collecting GB stamps solely for the purpose of hoping for a profitable return at some later date, then you cannot be a general collector. You must be selective.
Many stamps are bought and sold solely for their collecting interest and will never return you a profit and collectors are aware of this. They buy them because they want to. If they are lucky, some of their purchases will show them a profit and these will offset the losers.

| INTRODUCTION |
| |
| |
Welcome. The Great British Stamp market is booming and
there are many, many Great British stamps that have increased in
value over the past two to three years. Some have increased a little, whilst others have rocketed. You do not even need to spend a fortune. Some stamps or sets
in the mid to high tens have increased well in value too.
So, whilst nothing in life can be certain or guaranteed, Great British Stamps at the
moment are looking good for Investment.
A word of warning though. As with all investments, it should be remembered that prices can go down as well as
up and who knows what the Market is going to be like in 10 years time.
Crystal ball anyone? |
| WHICH GREAT BRITISH STAMPS TO INVEST IN? |
The heading of this section is What
stamps to Invest in. Because of the market at this time,
this can now be made much smaller and easier for the layman to understand.
UNMOUNTED MINT.
At least that is my tip for the lower to mid Investor. Now this does not
mean any unmounted mint and it does not exclude fine used either. It is
just the area that has shown the best overall increase and the area that
still looks a good bet. Modern decimal stamps have a few items that have
shot up, but generally speaking these are for collecting and unless you
are very selective you are unlikely to make a killing on these. Mind you,
I could be wrong.
I am talking about Unmounted Mint from Victoria Jubilees right through to
Early QE2 definitive sets. I do not say pre Jubilees for several reasons
that I will not bore you with, though if you have some experience in this
period, then fine, go for it, if that is your thing.
Nearly every unmounted mint high value stamp from this period has gone up
and whilst these were the first items to start moving, now the lower
priced items are moving up as well. Some of the lower value sets are
selling at a ridiculously low price in relation to availability.
Will the prices continue to go up?
The above is really aimed at the low to mid range of Investor/collector.
If you want to invest a really large sum, then no problem, just contact
me. |
| WHAT I OFFER |
If you do a search on the internet for
Stamp Investments, you will find some companies now offering this service
and they are selling items specifically targeted just for Investors. Well,
I am not. I do not have an Investment page of stamps. I simply have Great British
stamps for sale. A reasonably chosen selection can
have the potential to increase in value. Nor do you need to spend a
fortune either.
For those interested in better high value stamps, I have a small selection in my
Selected Items Section (link on the Home Page), but I am so busy, that this
section just does not get updated as often as I would like and so I have a
large quantity of items in stock but not shown. If you do not see an
item that interests you, just email me with the item you are looking for
and I will get back to you. This applies to anyone. So, if you only want to
spend a couple of Hundred or many thousands. I have
access to nearly every other major stamp dealer in the World and can source
items up to many thousands of Pounds.
I can suggest things for you to buy, but I do not really like to do this
without you doing a little research of your own. |
| WHY BUY FROM ME |
I have over 17 years of
experience buying and selling GB stamps and have become one of the
largest GB dealers in the Country (this applies to weight as
well!). I can supply impeccable references if you have any worries.
I work from an office at home, do not have an army of staff to pay for, do not
have fancy offices and in
general do not have the enormous overheads that some firms have. So, you
are not having to pay for all that as well as your stamps.
I am afraid that I do not have any nice brochures either, all I have are stamps!
Most importantly, I am also happy to
work on a small profit margin if needed. Do not get me wrong. I like big
margins the same as any other guy, but 5% of a thousand is still 50 quid
to me and it all helps to pay the bills. |
| CONTACTING ME TO DISCUSS YOUR
REQUIREMENTS |
I am happy to discuss any aspect of
collecting or Investment with you. So, by all means email me or phone (044) 01708 440173 during normal UK office hours.
A meeting can be arranged in many cases if required to discuss or show you
some material.
Please note that due to security, only photocopies of material may be
brought to any meeting in the first instance.
All major items of value are stored in banks and are not stored on my
premises, so some time maybe needed in order to supply you with details or
images. |
